A round-table discussion between staff members from The Fizz covering all the commitments and signings from National Signing Day 2014. Kevin Fitzgerald, Brendan Glasheen and Zephan Mayell break down each of the new additions. Hear from a handful of recruits from the 2014 class.

The guys start with the offensive side. The Orange adds a boatload of play-makers and immediate impact wide receivers. SU brought in 18 3-star recruits and the lone 4-star, KJ Williams, stuck with the Orange for the entire ride. 

Fitz, Sheen and Zeph then dissected the defensive recruits. 7 DBs and 4, three-star linebackers are coming up On the Hill. The mature Zaire Franklin and possibly the "next Shamarko" Rodney Williams feature the 15 defensive guys brought in.

And finally, The Fizz Leader, Damon Amendolara, helps us finish out the day. DA gives us his take on the class overall, the importance of recruiting the best talent and how the Scott Shafer and company ERA has a bright future ahead.

Austin Pollack previews Syracuse playing against Minnesota in the Texas Bowl. Syracuse finished the regular season 6-6 and is in a bowl game for the third time in the last four seasons. This is the first bowl game as head coach for Scott Shafer, and the program's first as a member of the ACC. 


Pollack also looks into what the bowl game in Texas means for recruiting. Not only is the location good to attract high school football players, but the national spotlight is good to bring attention to the program. 

The basketball team is No. 2 in the country and has games against St. John's and High Point before taking on ranked Villanova. The team is deserving of the ranking, considering the strong play from freshman Tyler Ennis and Trevor Cooney.

The 6-6 Syracuse Orange will take on the 8-4 Minnesota Golden Gophers on December 27 at Reliant Stadium in Houston for the Texas Bowl.

This is Syracuse's third bowl game appearance in the last four seasons. Austin Pollack talks about what this means for recruiting and he also gives a short preview of the game and breaks down each of the two teams.

Syracuse lost to Minnesota last season 17-10. The Orange went on to win the Pinstripe Bowl 38-14 against West Virginia. Minnesota played in the Texas Bowl last season and lost to Texas Tech, 34-31.

Glasheen and Pollack talked about how the season went, and how going 6-6 and being bowl eligible in the first season in a new conference, with a new head coach and quarterback, means a lot for the future of the program in terms of recruiting.

A.J. Long joins Glasheen and Pollack to give his thoughts on the 2013 season. Long also talked about his senior season in high school and dealing with injuries.

Syracuse beat Indiana 69-52 last Tuesday. The guys dove into the game and the improvement of Trevor Cooney and the important roles for young players like Tyler Ennis.

Syracuse goes into its game against BC with a 5-6 record, needing a win against a tough Eagles squad to become bowl eligible for the third time in four seasons. BC running back Andre Williams leads the way for the Eagles. The Heisman-hopeful has rushed for more than 2,000 yards on the season.

It was the Trevor Cooney show on Friday night at the Dome in Syracuse's 82-60 win over Cornell.

Austin Pollack dives into Cooney's performance. Cooney was 7-for-8 from three and finished with 27 points.

Pollack also touched on other notable highlights from the game, including a quiet night from freshman point guard Tyler Ennis.

Austin Pollack and Seth Goldberg dig into Syracuse's 13-0 win over Wake Forest last weekend. The guys looked at what the Orange did well and not so well, and the fourth win puts SU just two wins away from being bowl eligible.

Pollack and Goldberg also looked ahead to Syracuse's game against Maryland this afternoon. The Terrapins are 5-3 and 1-3 in the ACC. Maryland was the No. 25 team in the country and 4-0 before Florida State crushed the Terps 63-0. Maryland is one win away from bowl eligibility. Pollack and Goldberg talk about how this is a game Syracuse needs to win to make bowl eligibility a little more likely.

Syracuse basketball is finally here. Pollack and Goldberg looked ahead to the season and how this team will perform with a freshman point guard, a first-year starter in Cooney, and just the overall performance of the rest of the team.

Austin Pollack and Zephan Mayell dig into Syracuse basketball now that the calendar has switched to November. The Orange open up its season on November 8 against Cornell. Pollack and Mayell break down some of the biggest games on the schedule, both in non-conference and ACC play.

The guys also previewed Syracuse's football game against Wake Forest and what this team needs to do to get to bowl eligibility.
